SnowbedsJapan has been introducing the resort of Hakuba, home to the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, to globe trotting skiers and snowboarders since 1998.

One of the first foreign owned business's in Hakuba, Snowbeds was started by Australian Mitch Large, who has lived and worked in Hakuba since 1996. Having spent seasons in France, Austria, Canada and Australia, Mitch was seduced by Hakuba's awesome terrain, prolific snowfalls and total absence of lift lines and crowds. The Snowbeds company has grown over the years from running budget ski lodges and successful bars to booking memorable vacations for Hakuba holidaymakers. In fact, many of the foreigners now residing here got their first entry to Hakuba through Snowbeds.

Choosing a place to stay in Hakuba can be a little daunting; there are literally hundreds of accommodation establishments, however, many saw their heyday back in the bubble years of pre 1990 and have become rundown in the interim years.
